Reagent for peptide synthesis
S-(1-Oxido-2-pyridinyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylthiouronium tetrafluoroborate (TOTT) is a strong dehydrating and condensation reagent1. It activates carboxyl groups for smooth amide bond formation and related condensations, making it valuable in peptide synthesis and heterocycle construction. The reagent works under mild conditions, tolerates sensitive functional groups, and provides high efficiency and selectivity compared to harsher coupling agents.
