Reagent for sulfofluorination

Fluorosulfuryl imidazolium triflate salt (SuFEx-IT) is a click-chemistry reagent that is a much safer analog of SO2F2 gas, offering simpler procedures and less hazard to health. SuFEx-IT also possesses greater reactivity and selectivity compared to SO2F21. The F-SO2+ fragment attaches to H-containing acceptor groups such as phenols and amines to give fluorosulfates and sulfoamoyl fluorides respectively with good yields2,3.
Synonyms: 1-(fluorosulfonyl)-2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium trifluoromethanesulfonate; fluorosulfuryl imidazolium triflate salt; SuFEx-IT
