Reagent for heterocyclization

N-(Ethenyloxy)acetamide

N-(Ethenyloxy)acetamide is an O-vinylhydroxylamine reagent used for the efficient synthesis of 7-azaindolines and 7-azaindoles via a metal-free N-arylation and [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement1. It reacts with aza-arene N-oxides under mild conditions to form fused heterocycles. The method tolerates a wide range of substrates and enables late-stage functionalization of complex molecules, including drug derivatives. The reagent is stable, scalable, and easy to prepare, making it a valuable tool for medicinal chemistry and heterocycle synthesis.

Synonyms: N-(vinyloxy)acetamide; acetamide, N-(ethenyloxy)-
