Reagent for fluorination
N-(benzenesulfonyl)-N-fluorobenzenesulfonamide is a fluorinating reagent, a conventional source of electrophilic fluorine1. It has similar properties as the famous Selectfluolor but is less reactive and soluble in most organic solvents (ethers, THF, DCM, MeCN, toluene)2. It is a white solid with no high melting point (~115℃) and is stable up to 180℃. Therefore, it could be used without solvent in some cases.
Synonyms:N-fluoro-N-(phenylsulfonyl)benzenesulfonamide (ACI); Accufluor NFSi; fluorobis(phenylsulfonyl)amine; N-fluoro-N-(benzenesulfonyl)benzenesulfonamide; N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide; N-fluorobis(phenylsulfonyl)amine; N-fluorodibenzenesulfonimide; N-phenylsulfonyl-N-fluorobenzenesulfonamide; NFSI
