Reagent for heterocyclization and source of difluorocarbene

Difluoro(isothiocyanato)methyl trimethylsilane

Difluoro(isothiocyanato)methyl trimethylsilane (TMSCF2NCS) is a novel reagent for introducing isothiocyanodifluoromethyl groups in organic compounds1. The reagent enables the synthesis of 2-(difluoromethylthio)-4-fluoroimidazoles, valuable in pharmaceutical research. It also serves as a precursor for nucleophilic fluoroalkylation under fluoride activation. TMSCF2NCS is a colorless liquid, stable at 4°C and scalable for decagram-level synthesis. Its high selectivity and stability make it a useful tool in medicinal chemistry and material science.

Synonyms: TMSCF2NCS; (isothiocyanodifluoromethyl)trimethylsilane;[difluoro(isothiocyanato)methyl]trimethylsilane; [difluoro(isothiocyanato)methyl] TMS
