Sulfonate electrophile for asymmetric Heck reactions

1-Cyclohexenyl triflate

1-Cyclohexenyl triflate is a highly reactive sulfonate electrophile that behaves like a trifluoromethanesulfonate in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric Heck reactions1. It participates in coupling with dihydrofuran and other alicyclic olefins, giving very high conversions (>98%) and good enantioselectivity (up to 80% ee) under proline-based phosphine–oxazoline ligands. Its superb leaving-group ability (–OSO₂CF₃) makes it an excellent oxidative-addition partner for Pd(0), enabling efficient C–C bond formation under mild conditions.

Synonyms: cyclohex-1-en-1-yl trifluoromethanesulphonate; O-trifluoromethylsulfonyl-1-cyclohexenol; cyclohex-1-enyl trifluoromethanesulfonate; cyclohex-1-enyl trifluoromethanesulfonate; cyclohex-1-enyl trifluoromethanesulfonate; cyclohex-1-enyl triflate; cyclohexanone enol triflate
