Chemically diverse α-amino acids are essential components in screening campaigns and for generating libraries of bioactive molecules. Recently, we updated our α-amino acid stock library, which contains over 2,000 structures, by introducing subclasses. We categorized aromatic, proline-like, fluorinated, and C(α) quaternary amino acids into distinct subclasses. Additionally, we sorted the database according to the calculated numerical lipophilicity values (clogD7) of their side chains and grouped them as strongly hydrophilic (charged), hydrophilic, amphipathic, and hydrophobic, using an experimental logP scale for the 20 common amino acids.
