Reagent for nitrosation

NO-1

NO-1 is a reagent for transnitrosation under mild experimental conditions, that has better stability and functional group tolerance than classical TBN reagent1. It is a light yellow crystalline powder that maintains long-term integrity under ambient storage conditions. NO-1 can easily react with cyclic, acyclic amines and amides in the presence of carboxylic and hydroxy functional groups, alkynes, and alkenes. Primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols can be successfully nitrosated even in cases of activated benzylic or allylic alcohols without oxidation. When the substrate doesn’t tolerate heating, the catalytic amount of trifluoroacetic acid can be applied as an alternative for heating.
