Reagent for deoxyfluorination
Deoxofluor is a deoxyfluorinating reagent used to convert alcohols to alkyl fluorides, acids to acyl fluorides, and aldehydes/ketones to gem-difluorides1. It is more thermally stable than traditional agents like DAST and often yields better results. Deoxofluor is a yellow to colorless liquid that reacts violently with water to form HF, necessitating handling in a dry atmosphere.
